I love discovering new bands.
I stumbled across this beauty of a band on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Stanley Park at Vancouver’s Summer Live festival.
Female & male vocals, this seven-piece The Belle Game has been likened to fellow Canadian acts Arcade Fire & New Pornographers. What’s not to like? This show was one of high energy, percussion, gorgeous vocals, a rootsy feel and catchy melodies.
On the fashion front, lead vocalist (and percussionist) Andrea Lo was rocking the shorts look with a chambray shirt, lace backed top & 70’s style wedges.
Founding member Adam Nanji also sported the chambray shirt-look and had contrasting bright red socks to match his guitar strap of bright florals.
Pianist and vocalist Katrina Jones hails from Montreal, and her look was a take on the tailoring trend. Sand-washed silk shorts in this season’s coral with a sheer black tailored shirt.
I’m loving the song ‘Sleep to Grow’ which you can download for free here.
Catch this stunning act live at their next gig at The Electric Owl, Vancouver on August 18th.

They are an incredible band. I wrote about their song River recently, Lo’s vocals are pretty darn amazing.
